I'm the author of Salamander Dream (AdHouse Books) and Gray Horses (Oni Press). My latest graphic novel, Chiggers, will be released in June '08 through Simon & Schuster's ginee seo books/Atheneum Books for Young Readers and Aladdin MIX. I'm also working on a short story for Image Comics' forthcoming anthology Comic Book Tattoo, and you can see a snippet of my art in the January '08 issue of SPIN Magazine (although I'll be redrawing it).

My work has been nominated for Harvey, Cybil, Wright, Kim Yale and Premios Expocomic awards. In 2006, I won the Ignatz Award for Most Promising New Talent, and in 2007 I received an Eisner Award in the Special Recognition category. I've also been published in several anthologies and on the Op/Ed page of the New York Times.

Here are a few of my short comics:

Chiggers: Séance: This short comic is unrelated to events in the book, but features the main character, Abby (in the hat).

P.S. Tulip Tree Press is defunct due to an intense move from Nova Scotia back to North Carolina, but you can still by Rebecca Kraatz's amazing, award-winning House of Sugar from rebeccakraatz.com.

Calgary Expo, April 26th-27th, 2008
MoCCA Art Festival, June 7th-8th, 2008
